Is an #aircraft producing #emissions? Yes of course. Is the emission #footprint larger than the car you drive? Well, this depends…. Today, an airliner use 3.7 liters (1 US gallon) per passenger per 100km (62 miles). The aviation industry is technological more advanced than everything else and the emission footprint from all aircraft is as low as 2.5%. The footprint from #ships and #trains is 3.3% and from #cars and #trucks 18%. And because we will use #bio #fuel as often as possible, we can say: yes we support this goal as good as we can while we deliver #life-saving #aid and fighting against #worldwide #poverty.
Given by the UN:
Climate change is now affecting every country on every continent. It is disrupting national economies and affecting lives, costing people, communities and countries dearly today and even more tomorrow.
People are experiencing the significant impacts of climate change, which include changing weather patterns, rising sea level, and more extreme weather events. The greenhouse gas emissions from human activities are driving climate change and continue to rise. They are now at their highest levels in history. Without action, the world’s average surface temperature is projected to rise over the 21st century and is likely to surpass 3 degrees Celsius this century—with some areas of the world expected to warm even more. The poorest and most vulnerable people are being affected the most.
Affordable, scalable solutions are now available to enable countries to leapfrog to cleaner, more resilient economies. The pace of change is quickening as more people are turning to renewable energy and a range of other measures that will reduce emissions and increase adaptation efforts.
But climate change is a global challenge that does not respect national borders. Emissions anywhere affect people everywhere. It is an issue that requires solutions that need to be coordinated at the international level and it requires international cooperation to help developing countries move toward a low-carbon economy.
Can you imagine, that 1 Super #Container #Ship is producing emissions like 750 Million cars every year..? It blows out unfiltered diesel oil into the #sea and into the #air. And we have 16 Super Container Ships on our #oceans and more than 90 other large #Cargo Ships. Are ships better than aircrafts, trains or trucks? Well, this depends on each personal view and to who you are talking to, but lets give a further explanation about this question on our next post.
Given by UN:
The world’s oceans – their temperature, chemistry, currents and life – drive global systems that make the Earth habitable for humankind. Our rainwater, drinking water, weather, climate, coastlines, much of our food, and even the oxygen in the air we breathe, are all ultimately provided and regulated by the sea. Throughout history, oceans and seas have been vital conduits for trade and transportation. Careful management of this essential global resource is a key feature of a sustainable future.
Goal 15: Sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, halt biodiversity loss
We are faced with two main problems: with ourselves and the nature. Each of us have to become aware of what we are doing and how we treat our #planet and our #nature to reduce some of the problems we have. But this need a mind change of billions of people, which is quite hard work, but we can make it if we find the required self-knowledge. On the other hand, we can not change the nature. We have to live with her and we need to learn how to deal with all the #natural #catastrophes approaching in #future. We should learn how to #survive under certain circumstances and what we can do to provide #aid in shortest time in order to alleviate #suffering and at this point, #Moonlight Airs vision comes in.
Given by UN:
Forests cover 30 per cent of the Earth’s surface and in addition to providing food security and shelter, forests are key to combating climate change, protecting biodiversity and the homes of the indigenous population. Thirteen million hectares of forests are being lost every year while the persistent degradation of drylands has led to the desertification of 3.6 billion hectares.
Deforestation and desertification – caused by human activities and climate change – pose major challenges to sustainable development and have affected the lives and livelihoods of millions of people in the fight against poverty. Efforts are being made to manage forests and combat desertification.
We need to stop talking and have to start take action. We need to be more #responsible what we are doing and more #respectfully to each other. It couldn’t be a better time for a global kindness movement than now.
People with a lack of perspective are dissatisfied and are faced with #crime, #corruption, #war, #human #trafficking and #flight. Finally, if there is no #population for the reconstruction in the own country, there is less or even no #knowledge and the whole cycle starts again. So we have to brake the cycle first before we can start to change things. This is exactly what #Moonlight Air #Organization is planning to do, because we deliver not only #aid, we bring in #professionals, #train and #educate the locals, provide knowledge, #stimulate the #industry. We break the cycle because we provide #human #beings with #perspective, with the #freedom to choose and #hope for a #better #life in a #sustainable way.
Given by the UN:
This goal is dedicated to the promotion of peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, the provision of access to justice for all, and building effective, accountable institutions at all levels.
#Moonlight Air #Organization provide a special #software, connecting various organization worldwide, #independent from its size and background, such as #NGOs, #non-profit organizations, #associations, #governments and #commercial companies. We will close a gap, taking care of #customs procedures, long haul transportations and finally combine #synergies for more #efficient, #coordinated and #faster #aid. Moonlight Air Organization will become the first #humanitarian #airline, acting as a #charity for charities - a #global unique, private and #independent organization made by #mankind for mankind. And because we strive for financial #independency for at least 10 years, this allows us to say, that is #sustainable.
Our Vision: TOGETHER we can make this world a better place!
Given by the UN:
A successful sustainable development agenda requires partnerships between governments, the private sector and civil society. These inclusive partnerships built upon principles and values, a shared vision, and shared goals that place people and the planet at the centre, are needed at the global, regional, national and local level.
Urgent action is needed to mobilize, redirect and unlock the transformative power of trillions of dollars of private resources to deliver on sustainable development objectives. Long-term investments, including foreign direct investment, are needed in critical sectors, especially in developing countries. These include sustainable energy, infrastructure and transport, as well as information and communications technologies. The public sector will need to set a clear direction. Review and monitoring frameworks, regulations and incentive structures that enable such investments must be retooled to attract investments and reinforce sustainable development. National oversight mechanisms such as supreme audit institutions and oversight functions by legislatures should be strengthened.
On September 25th 2015, countries adopted a set of goals to end #poverty, protect the #planet and ensure #prosperity for all as part of a new #sustainable #development agenda. Each #goal has specific targets to be achieved over the next 15 years. For the goals to be reached, everyone needs to do their part: #governments, the #private sector, civil #society and #people like you.
#Moonlight Air #Organization is able to boost every single goal by #supporting governments and humanitarian organization worldwide with the private, independent and #not-for-profit solution we offer. Over the next 3 weeks we will explain every single goal and which role Moonlight Air Organization can play to achieve this goals even more quickly.
